What is the techno memorial service?
At the ``Techno Memorial Service,'' we decorate the space (not only the inner temple, but also the hall and outdoors) with modern light (projector projection, stage lighting) based on the recognition that ``the Pure Land is a world of light.'' , I work by arranging communiqués (sutras, etc.) that have been passed down from ancient times into techno sounds that transcend time and space.
The word Amida means ``there is no limit to space and time,'' and in modern terms it can be expressed as ``a world beyond time and space.''
Techno has a hyper-dimensional and hyper-spatial image to express this, and is evolving while incorporating various elements without being bound by regional characteristics on the earth such as the West or the East.
The decorations (majestic) of temples and Buddhist altars and the melodies of shomyo that have been handed down to this day were created by our ancestors using the best techniques of the time, with the image of the Pure Land in mind, and we regard them as ``tradition.'' I cherish it, but I feel like I've forgotten to "imagine the Pure Land."
Therefore, we would like many people to come and pray freely and become interested in Buddhism.
After the service, we hope that you will listen to a talk about Buddhism and experience its teachings.
By the way...what is a memorial service?
Generally speaking, when we hear the word "memorial service," we may think of a funeral or annual memorial service for the deceased.
However, the original meaning is [to know the essentials of the Buddha's teachings (Dharma)], and any event to encounter the Buddha's teachings can be called a ``Memorial Service.''
Memorial services related to the deceased are only one aspect of memorial services, and there are many celebratory memorial services such as flower festivals, Buddhist altar weddings, first birth ceremonies, formal ceremonies (first visit in the New Year), Rakukei memorial services, chief priest succession memorial services, etc. .
